Martin Sitalsing MSc is Chief Commissioner of Police in the North Netherlands region. After a short career in accountancy, he started working as a police officer in Amsterdam. He subsequently completed the senior officer training program at the Dutch Police Academy, after which he held various managerial positions in several police regions in the Netherlands.

In addition to the police training, he obtained a MSc degree in Public Administration at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, focusing on Police and Safety.

Between 2012 and 2019 he had a break from the police force and assumed positions as Chairman of the Youth Protection and GGZ (Mental Healthcare) boards.

During his career he held several voluntary board member positions; currently he is chairing the Noord Nederlands Toneel (Northern Dutch Theater), the dance group Guy and Roni and he is member of the Meld Misdaad Anoniem supervisory board. In addition, he is a regular guest lecturer on the subject of care, safety and leadership.
